Students who are completing college applications, and who qualify for application fee waivers based on family income should come see me to fill out a fee waiver request form.
Students and parents are also invited to attend a FAFSA workshop on the evening of Tuesday, November 5th beginning at 5:30. Please bring last year’s tax information as that is needed to complete the application for financial aid. Seniors who bring in proof of FAFSA completion will get a Jean Day pass once a month. You do not have to attend the workshop to get the Jean Day pass, just proof of FAFSA completion.

Created in memory of BURGER KING® Co-founder James “Jim” W. McLamore, the BURGER KING℠ Scholars program has awarded $35 million in scholarships to more than 33,000 high school students, BK® employees and their families across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico since 2000. In 2018 alone, the Foundation awarded $3.7 million to more than 3,400 students in North America. Scholarship grants range from $1,000 to $50,000 and are intended to help students offset the cost of attending college or post-secondary vocational/technical school. Recipients are selected based on their grade point average (GPA), work experience, extracurricular activities and community service. The application period for the 2020-2021 school year begins on Oct. 15, 2019 and closes Dec. 15, 2019. Click here to view the scholarship eligibility requirements and to apply now.
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship for high achieving, self-motivated students. The scholarship provides up to $6,000 each semester, for up to eight consecutive semesters, to help recipients graduate college debt free. Over Eight Hundred Hagan Scholars from 42 states are currently attending 325 colleges and universities. Recipients must graduate from a public high school located in a county having fewer than 50,000 residents and enroll at a four-year not-for-profit college or university the first semester following high school graduation. Scholarship benefits include Free Workshops, Schwab Accounts, and Study Abroad; providing recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically taught as a part of the school curriculum.
AXA Achievement Scholarship: The 2020 program year is open from September 1, 2019 until December 15, 2019 or until 10,000 applications are received. Click on the link below to apply.
The Science Ambassador Scholarship:
A full–tuition scholarship for a woman in science, technology, engineering, or math. Funded by Cards Against Humanity. Applications close December 9th, 2019 at 11:59PM CST. See the link below for details.
CC Banks Young Scholars Scholarship:
Each year CC Bank’s Young Scholars Scholarship offers up to five $2,000 scholarships to students attending universities, colleges, and other academic institutions across the U.S.
2020-2021 Scholarship Application Requirements:
Applicants must be under the age of 30.
Applicants must be U.S residents.
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
At the time of the scholarship award, the applicant must be enrolled to an academic institute.
Applicants must apply by Monday December 31, 2019 to get the scholarship during the 2019-2020 academic year. Every application received afterwards will be moved to next year’s applicants.
All five scholarships will be awarded by Monday February 20, 2020.
DEWALT Trades Scholarship
Deadline to apply: November 15, 2019 3:00 pm CT or when 1000 applications have been received. Stanley Black & Decker has established the DEWALT Trades Scholarship to assist students attending a two-year college or vocational-technical school who are pursuing a trade degree/certificate in an industry aligned with the Stanley Black & Decker Maker Goals – including but are not limited to Construction, Industrial, Motor/Power Sector, Mechanics, and Technology. The award is $10,000.
The RISE Financial Progress Scholarship:
The RISE Financial Progress Scholarship awards five $3,000 scholarships each year to students who demonstrate a desire to improve their financial knowledge – by taking a financial course – and sharing what they learn – through a scholarship essay. Scholarship recipients may use the scholarship money to help pay for educational expenses, including tuition, fees, housing, textbooks, or even a new computer. Program cutoff will be the first 1,000 applications submitted or the May 1, 2020 deadline, whichever is first.
Honoring the legacy and character of our nation’s 40th President, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education.
Each year, the Program selects numerous recipients to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Awards are for undergraduate study and may be used for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, and board. In addition, Scholars are invited to participate in a special awards program and receive ongoing leadership-development support.
